Originally built for a Grand Rapids clothier, Meyer May, it was purchased by furniture giant Steelcase in the 90's and fully restored, including the property next door which became the visitor's center. Even every piece of furniture and art was made specifically for Meyer May by Wright, as well as several architectural heavy-hitters of the time. We can't suggest taking a tour enough - and it's free."
