Part Time Lover

Bar · San Diego

Vinyl Record Store and Cocktail Bar Part Time Lover Opens in North Park | Eater San Diego

CH Projects has opened a new hifi bar and record store on 30th Street called Part Time Lover, which co-founder Arsalun Tafazoli says is the first of several ventures the group plans to open in North Park. Previously Bar Pink, the space still revolves around music: Tafazoli has handed over creative control of the music component to Folk Arts Rare Records, who will curate the record shop at the back and the bar’s daily soundtrack. The rest of the venue reads like a craftsman-esque living room designed for listening, hanging out, and discovering new-to-you music; a coffee station serves Heartwork Coffee and a small pastry menu, while the bar offers natural wine, beer, easy-sipping highballs, and a cocktail list by Ewan Bennie and Alicia Perry that includes an Old Fashioned variation made with bourbon, Japanese whisky, barrel-aged maple, bitters, and koji. - Candice Woo
