The long-awaited sequel to the greatest comedy movie of all time delivers the nostalgic thrill of seeing Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls reunited on both screen and stage, even if it can’t match the unimpeachable classic status of the original. Overstuffed with celebrity cameos, burdened by uninspired callbacks and arguably misreading what made the first film so great, it nonetheless manages to find just enough that works to justify its existence for fans eager to revisit the band’s absurd world. - Matthew Singer
