"Housed in a roughly 3,000 m² warehouse about 20 minutes from the city centre, this private museum—founded on the Bunnag-Beurdeley family collection in 2016—celebrates Chiang Mai’s role as a centre for art and culture. Permanent and rotating shows range from Lalan: The Cosmic Dance of the Paintbrush, a showcase of abstract watercolour work by Paris-based Chinese artist Lalan, to Patani Semasa, a commission featuring 27 contributors (photographers, architects and poets) responding to the violence in southern Thailand’s Patani province. Onsite amenities include the Kampangkaew Café serving Thai and international dishes and a shop selling rare artist books and limited-edition prints; nearby activities include temple visits, ethical elephant encounters at Elephant Nature Park and trips to the Sankampaeng Hot Springs." - Isabel Ong
