"Fairmont went big for its first hotel in South Korea: the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, part of the Parc.1 complex on Yeouido Island, occupies one of the tallest skyscrapers in the country. Sweeping views over the Han River and the city skyline are among the building’s primary selling points, and the hotel, designed by the celebrated architect Sir Richard Rogers, makes the most of them — almost every level is encased in floor-to-ceiling glass. Sunsets are especially dramatic from the open-air terrace at Mariposa, the Spanish-inspired bar and restaurant on the 29th floor, and the indoor pool, part of a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center, looks out over the city below.
