"Suvretta House, a palatial hotel set in a scenic alpine landscape just outside St. Moritz, opened to great fanfare and a well-timed snowfall in 1912. More than a century later, it’s still one of the top places to stay in one of Europe’s most exclusive destinations. It retains an old-world air, from the snow-dusted turrets, wood beams, and coffered ceilings to the billiards room, private ice skating rink, oak-paneled bar, and a richly decorated dining room where even children are required to dress for dinner. Guest rooms are comparatively simple but luxe, with classic wooden furnishings and heavy drapery framing large windows.
