"Porto has no shortage of cool design hotels, but not all of them boast a central Ribeira location like Exmo Hotel by Olivia. The historic neighborhood is easily the city’s most charming thanks to its medieval maze of traditional pastel-hued houses, and it’s also one of the most convenient for sightseeing, with major sights such as the Sé de Porto, the Torre dos Clérigos, the Church of São Francisco, and Livraria Lello all within a 15-minute walk away from the hotel. In contrast to the historic surroundings, rooms feel ultra contemporary with textured gray walls, neutral hues, and minimalist Scandi-style furnishings, and all come with views of the city or the Douro River, which is an easy three-minute stroll away. In true boutique hotel-style there isn’t much in the way of facilities, just a library lounge and bar for Portuguese wine and tapas, but with Ribeira on your doorstop, and some of Porto’s most exciting restaurants nearby, you won’t be short of drinking and dining options." - Tablet Hotels
