"Perched on a rocky promontory between Vietri sul Mare and Cetara, this regenerated coastal estate opened in June 2019 and transforms a once-infamous 1970s concrete hotel—the so-called “Eco-Monster” that was demolished in 1999—into a series of terraced gardens, a vineyard and lemon grove, and a private pebble beach with sleek blue umbrellas and white cabanas leading to turquoise waters. The family-led requalification prioritized environmental redemption and structural safety through geological surveys, specialist engineering and sustainable landscape design using indigenous plants, aromatic herbs and flowering agapanthus. Practical amenities include barrier-free access, rare-on-the-coast parking, an outdoor lounge bar for sunset cocktails, wedding and event spaces, and programming such as small music festivals; the owners are also planning a handful of boutique rooms with hiking access to complete the nature-first vision." - Marianna Cerini
