"Nilpena Ediacara National Park opened to the public on April 27. It is renowned for its fossil beds that preserve the oldest animals on Earth, known as Ediacara biota. The park offers guided tours to view these significant fossil beds, with ongoing work by paleontologist Mary L. Droser. The park's fossils, about 550 million years old, include the oldest records of animal sexual reproduction and mobility. Visitors must book guided tours to explore the fossils, and tours are operated by Ross Fargher, owner of the nearby Prairie Hotel.
