"Opened late last year, this 21-room property on Lees Wharf, directly next to the International Yacht Restoration School, channels its proprietors’ deep Newport roots—especially Howard Cushing’s—through interiors inspired by his 1860s family home, The Ledges. A digitally reproduced wallpaper of Howard Gardiner Cushing’s entry mural—powdery rose quartz-pink and turquoise, with butterflies mid-flight, peacocks on branches, and viney weeping willows—greets you as you climb a winding staircase.
