Dig Into Fun, Giant Garlic Knots at This New Greenwich Village Restaurant | Eater NY

"Terrific as a new Greenwich Village spot from Adrien Falcon and chef Joe Anthony, this place reminds me of Chambers or the Noortwyck in that it’s a great destination to drink super-interesting and uncommon wines — though they insist it’s not a wine bar. The scallops or the clams would be my go-tos, but I especially liked the fun of a giant $14 garlic knot served with a side of puttanesca to start. The expansive bar is a fun perch, and there’s now a happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m." - Melissa McCart

NYC's Most Exciting Fall Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"The former general manager of Essential by Christophe, who also worked at Bouley and Minetta Tavern, is opening a spot in the old Quality Eats space in the West Village. The food will be modern American, which, in this case, is shorthand for bison tartare with calabrian chile gochujang, chile-garlic charred kingfish, and milkshakes with dark chocolate, coconut, and brown-butter honey." - bryan kim, willa moore, will hartman, molly fitzpatrick

An amazing new addition to the West Village dining scene. Michelin-star quality food with remarkable complexity, depth, and execution, yet offered at neighborhood-friendly prices. The chic, modern dining room strikes the perfect balance of style and comfort, ideal for a dinner with friends or a cozy date night. A thoughtfully curated beverage list, layered with character and range, adds another compelling reason to visit Arvine. The West Village is truly lucky to welcome this gem. Must Try Dishes: - Fennel Salad – A refreshing start with multiple layers of flavor and texture. Bright, balanced, and beautifully composed — the perfect way to begin your meal. - Bison Tartare – Hands down one of the best tartares in NYC. The touch of Calabrian chili adds just the right umami and gentle heat, while the house-made grilled focaccia perfectly complements the dish. Packed with bold flavors and satisfying textures. -Gramma’s Bolo – Chef Joe Anthony reimagines comforting, home-style cooking at its highest level. The dish honors traditional flavors and techniques, yet his modern interpretation and precise execution take it to new heights. The addition of Picholine olives brings an unexpected but wonderful layer of flavor and texture. Can’t wait to go back and explore more dishes — Arvine is easily one of the most exciting new openings in NYC right now.

Incredible food and overall dining experience. The flavors were vibrant and balanced; a thoughtful, playful twist on traditional cuisine. The pickled fennel salad was bright and refreshing, the pappardelle was rich and a great portion, and the bass was beautifully executed. Don’t forget the house made focaccia which paired beautifully with the grass fed bison tartare. The wine list was excellent, even for someone who isn’t a sommelier. Excited to come back soon and make this a regular spot.

Fantastic food and hospitality!! Each dish was very delicious and had very different flavor profiles. My favs were the Spicy Bison Tartare, Diver Scallops, the Grandma’s Bolo, and everyone I talked to loved the pork chop a lot. Need to come back for that! Do not sleep on the bread - it is truly one of the best I have had!! The staff were also so friendly. So excited for Chef Joe Anthony!

Delicious. Must try! Only incredible food and good cocktails can survive in West Village. The dishes are so good and add something different to the neighborhood. Some favs are : polenta, scallops, fried chicken, and hummus! Run before this place gets booked months out.

We had a great dinner — everything was fantastic! We tried the bison tartare, fish crudo, and Grammas Bono, all delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lovely, the service friendly, and the restroom was clean, always a good sign. The only disappointing part was the water situation. We started with tap water and later asked for sparkling. They brought the same bottle, not sealed, so we assumed they just carbonated tap water in-house and it was complimentary. But then we saw an $8 charge on the bill. That felt unpleasant, either bring a sealed bottle of sparkling water or don’t charge for house-carbonated tap water. Also, the music playlist was a bit odd, it didn’t quite match the vibe of the restaurant. Still, everything was tasty, and we’d definitely come back again.

Had an excellent dinner here. The service was phenomenal from the moment we walked in until we left. Our server Grace gave us wonderful recommendations: we had the caviar, the bolognese and the bruschetta. Cocktails were also excellent, had great conversations with all of the staff, and the music was great too. Nothing but good things to say about this place!

Had my birthday dinner here Saturday night, and it was great! Since they just opened, I wasn’t sure if the glowing reviews were from friends and family, but I can honestly say it lives up to the hype. I can’t stop thinking about the bison tartare and the olive oil cake. Service from the bar and kitchen was a little bit slow (they’re only a few weeks open at this point), but everything was so delicious and the staff so lovely that no one in our party minded at all. They’ll find their footing there soon, and I can’t wait to come back!

Arvine feels like the kind of neighborhood spot everyone hopes to find. The space is warm and inviting, the kind of place where you settle in and immediately feel taken care of. The food is thoughtful and full of flavor without ever feeling fussy. The Bison Tartare was bright and beautifully balanced. The Pickled Fennel and Basil Salad was fresh, lively and such a nice contrast to the delicious richer dishes. The Kombu Baked Scallops were cooked perfectly, rich and delicate in a way that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite. It works for a casual dinner during the week, and it also feels special enough for a celebration. If you’re looking for a delicious dinner in a cozy and welcoming setting, Arvine is absolutely worth a visit and then another.
