This spot serves up mouthwatering pollo a la brasa and Latin street food by day, transforming into a vibrant speakeasy bar with killer nightlife.
"Open until 12am Wednesday-Thursday, 3am Friday-Saturday Going to town on a whole roasted chicken with sweet plantains, rice, and beans at midnight is a luxury everyone should experience, and at Chicken + Whiskey, you can. This fast-casual Peruvian spot on 14th Street serves charred, peppery seasoned chicken in quarter, half, and whole portions, with a variety of sides to go. But if your feet are crying out from a night of dancing, snag a yellow stool and dig in. " - omnia saed

"Logan Circle’s popular destination for Peruvian poultry and brown liquor unveiled a follow-up D.C. location right across from Nationals Park last summer. Chicken + Whiskey debuted in 2017 along the bustling 14th Street NW strip, where Venezuelan chef Enrique Limardo (Seven Reasons, Immigrant Food, Imperfecto, Surreal) sends out slow-roasted chickens brined for 12 hours. Unlike the narrow layout of the original — a chicken joint in the front, and a wall of whiskeys and vinyls behind a refrigerator door in the back — Chicken + Whiskey puts its two components side-by-side in Navy Yard with roll-up garage doors spanning the length of the facade." - Tierney Plumb, Eater Staff
"The South American rotisserie shop and whiskey bar going four years strong serves Peruvian poultry in the front and has a wall of brown liquor and vinyls in the back. Its prolific Venezuelan chef Enrique Limardo (Seven Reasons, Immigrant Food, Imperfecto) complements slow-roasted chickens that are brined for 12 hours with arepas and addicting breaded chicken strips. An additional D.C. location sits in Navy Yard." - Tierney Plumb, Eater Staff
"This local Peruvian chicken chain’s four shot offerings traverse the flavor spectrum. A green tea delivers a sour punch with a mixture of whisky, peach, and citrus, while a pickleback shot uses house-made brine as a salty chaser to a shot of whisky. Odes to sugary-and-salty childhood snacks come in the form of a PB&J shot (peanut butter and jelly whiskey) and “Cinnamon Toast Crunch Remix” (rumchata and cinnamon mezcal). A new Navy Yard outpost joined the original 14th Street NW location this summer." - Emily Wishingrad
