"Melfi’s is named after an Italian immigrant family who came to Charleston in the 1800s and ran a pharmacy out of this space. As a good luck gift, Melfi descendants donated their hand-painted family coat of arms to the restaurant, where it hangs above the kitchen. “It shows their blessing and brings good energy,” Reitz says." - ByJennifer Hope Choi
