"How did it strike you on arrival?Windows down, you inhale the ponderosa pine-laden air as you pull up to this unassuming, campy lodge. Rolling in your luggage there's an imminent quiet, and it's everything you've craved driving in from L.A. What’s the crowd like?Huddled around the campfire, you roast s'mores and share like you were bunkmates. It's like camp, with no counselors. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.It was a single, and admittedly slightly bare bones. But this is the waterfront real estate that writers should be escaping to, with showstopping sunsets to boot. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The linens were soft and comfy, and a lovely bed to rest your head on after a day of exploring. Think of it as glamping, summer camp edition. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention?Honestly, it's a pretty bare bones lodge, albeit with great style, but it's the best boutique-ish stay in town. What it lacks in luxury it'll make up for in kitschy charm. But, that being said, BRING THE COFFEE. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. It's a basic a shower situation but it's always hot and ready to rock. Bring your own toiletries. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi was pretty darn solid. What do they have for food?Sadly there's no room service, but there are plenty of great eats in town. You're here to escape, anyways. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?Trophy goes to whoever lights the communal fire pits at night. Life changing. Anything stand out about other services and features? The pool is a blast, but again, you're here for the natural beauty. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The air: so clean compared to the stuff in L.A., and so close. Bottom line: Why are we choosing Noon Lodge?Considering it's just a hop skip and a jump from L.A. in the San Bernadino Mountains, why aren't you there right now?" - Krista Simmons
