"Looking for an upscale ski chalet with a hefty dose of French country style? Check. A room from which you can practically peep the ski lifts? Check, mate. The Chateaux Deer Valley ticks off all our chilly weather holiday boxes, from the cozy, well-appointed rooms—oriental rugs, oversized, pine-knotted doors, and moody oil paintings abound—to the conveniently regular shuttle service to downtown Park City. The town’s Main Street, a snowy cluster of art galleries and swanky boutiques, is just a seven-minute ride from the resort—a sticking point for our ski-bruised bottoms. The Chateaux has a decent Italian joint for those nights you can’t be bothered to leave—but at such a short distance, make an effort to see to the city’s perpetually-buzzing, and surprisingly varied restaurant scene—where else can you find a ski-in distillery and gastro-saloon (count the buzz words) to a family-friendly comfort food café? Back at the digs, dust off your ski boots on a velvety, gas fireplace-adjacent cushion, and haul it in to the jetted tub or outdoor heated pool for an après-ski recovery session. A complimentary breakfast and a full-service spa are bonuses atop an otherwise faultless sundae."
