"Just a three-minute walk from the base of Aspen Mountain (or five minutes, if ski boots are on), the St. Regis is a Gilded Age mountain manor that would have made John Jacob Astor proud. Still, you'd never guess there's a light touch therein. Following a recent $40 million facelift, the hotel has clean, modern lines—now outfitted with floor-to-ceilings windows and bronze and nickel accents. The rooms, too, have received an update: Custom Ralph Lauren beds and desks anchor each space, while seasonally rotated linens and heated marble floors up the décor.
