"What's the vibe here?This pop-up desert camp is magical, reminiscent of something out of Arabian Nights. Unlike an ordinary camp site, Starlight sets up a dome-shaped tent that allows guests to fall asleep with views of the starlit open night skies above. There's something about waking up in the middle of the desert with rolling sand dunes all around, this site provides visitors that. Fellow guests?This offering is a luxurious, private proposition, so at any one time the site is the booked guest's oasis, no one else is on site. How was check in and room amenities?The welcome is friendly and the familiarization good. Location of the camp (it's constantly on the move) is only given to guests a few days in advance. If driving yourself, a four-wheel-drive will meet you for the final stretch into the desert. In terms of in-room tech the tent has a Bluetooth speaker and sockets for chargers and cables. The Illy coffee machine is a welcome mod-con. The curtains can be closed manually but as the camp is entirely private there's probably no need. What's the room like?The dome-shaped bubble tent has a queen-sized bed, a wooden camp-style shower and toilet, as well as kid-friendly camp mattresses and a telescope for the late-night desert sky-gazing session. What about the food?Decent camp fare, but nothing too fancy. Bottom line.A refreshing escape from the constant bustle and lights of Dubai itself. Only 45-minutes away." - Melinda Healy
