"Tell us about this hotel. Not many hotels with a central location like this are able to channel the composure and tranquility of the Four Seasons. Since opening across the street from Boston Common more than 30 years ago, and after a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2017, the hotel continues to be a favorite for upscale travelers in Boston. What’s the crowd like?A buttoned-up crowd of lawyers, bankers, and other professionals. You'll likely run into politicians from the nearby State House power lunching at The Bristol or strategizing over martinis. Tell us about the digs. The best rooms here have tranquil views over the Boston Public Garden; even just two or three stories up, you'll see the treetops, not hectic Boylston Street below. The recently renovated rooms have a gentle palette, textured plaster, Colonial-blue wall coverings, and medium-toned woods. Between the view and the décor, you'll love waking up here. How about the little touches in the rooms. Anything you want to shout out? From the custom mattresses designed exclusively for the hotel by Simmons and the blackout shades, to the luxurious bedding and soundproof double-walled windows, one thing is clear: the Four Seasons takes sleep seriously. After just one night here, you'll be wondering how to steal a mattress. Is the room service any good? The room service menu, from the downstairs foodie favorite Bristol, doesn't mess around. Before the streamlined late-night menu kicks in, get your hands on the decadent Duo of Duck ($42), made with lavender-honey glaze, rhubarb jam, and wild mushrooms. How about the staff?Whether it's arranging an in-room spa treatment or an in-room private yoga lesson, the concierge is masterful. Should you decide to step foot outside the hotel—there's so much to do here you actually don't have to—you'll be armed with dinner reservations, theater tickets, and anything else you fancy. Anything else we should know? There's a fantastically equipped gym overlooking Beacon Hill, an indoor pool on the eighth floor, and valet parking for a price. So, bottom line: Why are we booking here?Although this hotel certainly comes with a Four Seasons price tag, there's no beating its commitment to luxury and service. If you're looking to splurge in Boston, this is where to do it." - Todd Plummer
