"Opened quietly in Hillside Village and officially debuting for dinner on April 8 at 6465 East Mockingbird Lane, this neighborhood-focused tavern is the latest project from the teams behind Rapscallion, Boulevardier and Veritas Wine Room (co-owners Brooks Anderson and Bradley Anderson and chef Nathan Tate). The dining room mixes reclaimed furnishings—tables from chef Matt McCallister’s former FT33 and chairs recovered from Tim Byres’s Smoke—with exposed brick and new local artwork by Steve Lawrence featuring Texas legends like Willie Nelson, creating a cozy, familiar vibe. Drinks are a major focus, with about a dozen mostly local beers on tap, an expertly curated wine list and a full cocktail program (notable pours include a Cuban daiquiri, an Aperol spritz and a Boulevardier). The menu leans classic and comforting, highlighting a patty melt, a fried chicken sandwich called “The Long Walk,” burgers, muffulettas and kid-friendly options. The restaurant does not take reservations and opens for dinner service at 4:00 p.m." - Rachel Pinn
