"At the Arden Arcade Burger King, employees walked off around 1 p.m. Wednesday after indoor temperatures reportedly climbed as high as 100 degrees because of a broken air conditioner; staff allege the AC has been malfunctioning for over a year and say working near the food warmers and fryers in those conditions has caused migraines and forced them to take breaks in the freezer. Five employees filed a complaint with Cal/OSHA, while Burger King representatives disputed the timeline, saying the franchisee reported the dining room AC had been inoperable “for less than a week” and was being repaired and that the kitchen AC unit remained functional." - Dianne de Guzman
