"London Iranian import Berenjak would be good for its vibes alone (dim, romantic room; drippy tall candles befitting a Victorian-era castle; melt-into banquettes), but the food at the new Arts District destination also happens to be superlative. I got lucky enough to go with a group and try most of the menu; somehow, everything hit. My favorite of the kabab section had to be the barbecue prawns (meygoo kabab), which arrived fat, creamy with tomalley (in the moment, we said “head juice”), and blackened with a vengeful char that thankfully did not impart a dry texture. Paired with saffron rice, mast-o khiar (zingy cucumber yogurt), and one of the restaurant’s signature breads, this dish will be one you can’t stop ruminating about until your next visit, which, for me, is already booked. — Nicole Fellah, Eater editorial manager" - Matthew Kang
