"I learned that Smokehouse Tavern will reopen May 7 in its original space as a takeout-and-delivery barbecue operation while dining rooms remain closed: the menu will focus on brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken and other smoked meats, with sides like mac and cheese and braised greens, plus fan favorites such as Taco Tuesday tacos, deviled eggs, and Frito pies. It will offer meat by the pound, full chickens, and sides by the quart for family meals, be available for delivery through Caviar and Postmates as well as for pick-up, and will join restaurants offering cocktail mixers to-go (the team has not decided on recipes yet). Initially it will be run by BJ Smith in the kitchen with co-owner/general manager Matt Green helping, open 4–8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, with the possibility of adding staff, hours, or days if demand warrants; Smith says it’s unclear whether the switch is temporary or permanent." - Alex Frane
