"A lively new brewpub in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood that opened in late August, occupying the former Tequila Rain space on Landsdowne Street and about 10,000 square feet of a larger multi-level entertainment complex. The operation uses a SmartBrew system — with brewmaster Brian Watson in New Zealand designing recipes and sending wort to Boston — where the beer is fermented and finished locally in four 10-barrel tanks; core offerings include house beers such as Double Play IPA and Down Undah pale ale, with roughly five rotating house beers tapped from large copper tanks above the bar and a dozen guest taps and a full wall of spirits for variety. Chef Jessica Brown’s menu mixes street-food–inspired plates (miso salmon with scallion rice, Singapore-style shrimp noodles) with pub favorites (cheeseburgers, fried calamari, deviled eggs). The space leans playful — social media posts reflect that tone — and doubles as an activity destination with games like ping pong, shuffleboard, billiards and a Zoltar machine, plus a staircase connecting to an adjacent bowling alley and bar; it’s positioned more as a social, pre-game spot for Red Sox crowds than a beer-connoisseur shrine, focuses on on-premise sales (growlers are available), and plans more small-batch seasonal releases including a to-order “blue and black” mix of blueberry wheat and stout." - Alex Wilking
