"On a side street in easternmost Greenpoint, this plucky French sandwich shop — complete with a mosaic floor designating wine regions and shelves of French snacks — offers a roster of baguette sandwiches (hot and cold) plus salads, soups, and crepes. I’m a sucker for sandwiches with hot french fries inside, and the merguez sandwich ($19) is my favorite: a lengthy hank of bread stuffed with a just-grilled lamb sausage, splotched with pepper aioli and decorated with red ripe chiles and cilantro, and packed with plenty of still-warm fries; it’s full of flavor and leaves a burn on the lips.
