Former Blue Owl Head Brewer Is Opening Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos | Eater Austin

"Opened in San Marcos in January 2019 by husband-and-wife team Davy and Alex Pasternak, this farmhouse-style brewery is led by a former head brewer from Austin’s sour brewery Blue Owl who plans to use yeast and oak fermentation techniques to produce drier beers. The operation launched with four to five initial beers and will also offer local wine and cider; beers are available for tasting and to-go and will be released for limited distribution. Modeled after a wine estate on part of the Pasternaks’ 50-acre ranch, the five-acre site includes a taproom, a covered patio and large outdoor seating, and features illustrations by Graham Francoise that tell each beer’s story.
