"After a two-year run at 1337 11th Street NW, the Bird will cease service on Monday, January 21 so ownership can wipe the slate clean; they felt the restaurant was not delivering consistently and cycled through several chefs after the kitchen—originally designed around inaugural chef Michael Bonk’s poultry-focused menu—proved difficult for successors to replicate. Fans can get a last taste during Restaurant Week (January 14–20), with the final night offering half off food and drinks.
