"I’m always on the prowl for new restaurants in the South Bay and this lovely little find tucked into the front of a Ramada Inn in Torrance is my latest. Though the menu offers classics like orange chicken and even xiao long bao, the Sichuan-inspired dishes might be the best options. The fairly anonymous name of Tasty China belies the flavor coming out of the kitchen, like this thinly sliced beef and chopped chile dish, laced with celery and stringy cilantro. I used every napkin on the table to wipe my brows throughout the meal due to the dish’s simmering heat and bursts of capsaicin burning from the chopped chiles. Spooned over hot rice, I couldn’t stop eating it. The other dishes we ordered, chicken chow mein for my toddler son, and a milder shredded pork with garlic, were delicious too." - Eater Staff
