"Located at 2000 Ross Avenue, the year-old Mendocino Farms in Downtown Dallas was the chain's first Dallas arrival almost exactly a year before the Addison opening. Founded in 2005, the shop is known for towering Cali-style sandwiches and veggie-packed salads; signature items include the avocado and quinoa “superfood” salad with black beans, jicama and grape tomatoes on chopped romaine and curly kale, a club sandwich with shaved turkey breast and bacon on seeded wheat, Reubens, paninis, Impossible burgers, a vegan banh mi, and a “shawarma” wrap made with roasted mushrooms instead of meat. Diners can order online through the Mendocino Farms website for pickup and delivery, and the brand is expanding across Texas with multiple Houston locations." - Brittanie Shey
