"Operating under the trademarked name Misfit Confections, Bossett quietly produces tiny-batch, highly imaginative chocolates and confections from Dirt Candy’s kitchen and sells them mostly via Instagram: fillings and combinations include cheddar-caramel popcorn crunch, mayonnaise caramel (featured in a Halloween 'Mirrors' bonbon with nougat and toasted walnuts), and a Twinkie-reminiscent chocolate created as a Die Hard nod; one Die Hard piece called 'Nakatomi Plaza' paired bonito caramel with a rice-and-seaweed crunch. Her first release was an extremely limited Die Hard–inspired Christmas set (12 total) at the end of 2020, followed by themed collections (Thriller for Halloween 2021 and Coming to America for Valentine’s Day), and she keeps production deliberately small because scaling up would make her miserable. Holiday items currently on sale (while supplies last) include a Buddy the Elf snack bar ($6), the Festivus Collection of bonbons with meatloaf caramel and coffee coconut ($22), Holiday Love hearts with peanut butter and banana pudding ($8), and Jamaican-style sorrel truffles ($5); she emphasizes staying creatively unpredictable rather than designing exclusively for an upper-middle-class, White audience." - Charlotte Druckman
