"The sprawling Mosaic District development in Fairfax will lose an option for locally sourced oysters, wood-grilled fresh catches, and attention-grabbing burgers this weekend. Brine announced on Facebook this week that it will close Saturday after five years of business. The seafood restaurant, which opened in May 2015, comes from Rappahannock Oyster Co. owner Travis Croxton. Opening chef John Critchley designed a burger that stole attention away from raw bar and earned a fawning review from the Burger Days blog. Critchley went on to open Robert Wiedmaier’s Siren, a short-lived seafood restaurant in Thomas Circle that won a Michelin star in 2018." - Gabe Hiatt
