"The Ella Boulevard location at 3321 Ella Boulevard is temporarily closed after a fire at 4:30 p.m. caused by a malfunctioning kitchen vent hood that inflicted substantial damage but resulted in no injuries; the restaurant will remain closed until further notice while repairs are made and staff are being reassigned to the Downtown and Bagby locations. This is the second major incident for the business in two years—an electrical fire in January 2023 previously forced an almost year-long shutdown—and owner Ramon Soriano said he was shocked and devastated but deeply grateful that his team was safe and that the Houston Fire Department arrived within two minutes to limit the damage.
