"The Gilroy Garlic Festival was canceled indefinitely in mid-April. The Noceti Group, organizers of the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, announced intentions to revive the festival, which led to a controversy. Ken Christopher, Executive Vice President of Christopher Ranch, stated that no one on the board of the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association was aware of or affiliated with the Noceti Group's plans.
