"Named for the famed volcano, Krakatoa serves up Indonesian fare in a colorful setting right on Hollywood Boulevard’s busiest strip. The restaurant is a partnership between friends John Anthony and Abe Moiz and is one of the few Indonesian restaurants in South Florida. Moiz, a native of Indonesia, brings the flavors of his country to this little restaurant decorated with photographs of his home. The dishes are more fragrant than spicy with complex notes with favorites being a nasi goering, a fried rice and vegetable dish that can be made a meal with the addition of a protein. Whatever you do, don’t forget to order the Six Feet Under dessert - a little dirt cup in a clay flower pot that yields a delightful avocado pudding with a bit of exploration. The restaurant also offers meal plans, where Chef Abe will cook your entire week’s worth of meals to enjoy in the comfort of your own home." - Laine Doss
