"Known for its gregarious owner Tomas Lopez, this food truck launched more than 10 years ago and became a staple in the South Lake Union area; Lopez's warmth and charm—customers said he could turn any bad day into a great one—kept regulars coming back for what many called "some damn fine al pastor." The truck even received national attention in 2017 when Lopez began serving food out of it during an I-5 traffic jam. Lopez's recent death at age 44 from COVID-19 has left Seattle’s food truck community in mourning, and his son Isaac launched a GoFundMe (which has raised well over its $10,000 goal) to help cover funeral expenses and keep the family business running, while industry figures praised him as a pioneer of the Seattle food truck scene." - Gabe Guarente
