"A small, bright corner bar-restaurant in Walthamstow occupying a former estate agent, centered around a single communal dining table and offering an intimate, hyper-local dining experience. Run by the couple behind a nearby natural wine shop, the kitchen is led by Nico Salzano, whose background includes supper clubs at Palm 2 and training at La Cave à Michel in Paris. The weekly-changing menu (currently served on Friday and Saturday nights) draws on Parisian cave-à-vin-style dishes — past examples include roast chicken with a padrón toastie, burnt cauliflower with anchovy dressing, and pickled egg with pea shoots and girolles — paired with a carefully curated selection of mostly organic, biodynamic and low-intervention wines. Positioned among London’s new-wave wine bars, it emphasizes honest, transparent cooking and wines, and plans to extend service beyond its initial weekend focus from the start of spring." - Andrew Leitch
