"Later this spring, Greenville Avenue will be home to a brand new Italian eatery called Gallo Nero Italian Bistro. The restaurant is set to open its doors at 1905 Greenville Avenue, and is a sister spot to Lancaster Italian restaurant Roma’s Italian, according to CultureMap. The restaurant’s name is Italian for “black cock,” which is apparently a common moniker for red sauce joints in Italy and beyond judging by the number of restaurants that will share a name with Gallo Nero when it arrives in Dallas. Despite Greenville Avenue’s booming restaurant scene, the owners of Gallo Nero have no qualms about setting up shop in one of the city’s busiest dining districts. “Greenville Avenue is a big step for us, but we have two things in our favor,” owner Florenc Leshnja told CultureMap. “First, our food is good, and we have great service. We hope those two things combined will win us customers.” As far as the menu is concerned, diners can look forward to classic Italian-American dishes like lasagna and eggplant parmesan, along with a full bar that will take advantage of the space’s built-in wine cellar. Gallo Nero is expected to make its Greenville Avenue debut sometime in April. Stay tuned for an official opening date." - Amy McCarthy
