"Inside a boldly purple-painted former Savers department store at 5130 Spring Mountain Road, I discovered Sweet Talk, a pan-Asian casual dining spot next to The Noodle Man and facing Pacific Asian Plaza. Diners can sit facing views of Spring Mountain or at a handful of patio seats inside the remodeled department-store space. Designed with social-media-friendly touches, beverages and desserts arrive in reusable containers featuring the shop’s pig mascot. The menu highlights uncommon sweet-and-savory Cantonese favorites: Chinese herbal jelly (sea coconut and aloe varieties), tofu custard, mango pomelo tapioca, and snow ice dishes including the durian ecstasy, taro ball snow mountain, and purple yam options; fruit noodle soup and fruit rolls join pillow-shaped Hong Kong-style pancakes made with mango, durian, or strawberries. A long list of fruity, scented, cheese-foam, and milk-tea beverages includes coconut milk drinks and a “deep love” made with boba and hibiscus flowers. Only available to dine-in customers, indulgent $10.99 souffle cakes are made in matcha, boba, or strawberry and served on a company-branded plate and tray. Open daily from noon to midnight." - Bradley Martin
