"I noticed the lights are out at The Hasty Tasty and all messages have gone unanswered; City Pages reports the smoked-meat-and-cocktail spot at the corner of Lake Street and Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis has permanently shuttered. It opened in November of 2017 with Chris Gerster manning the kitchen for owner Michael Veazey and deliberately resisted cuisine classification: despite a giant smoker it was not presented as barbecue, and although it served Bittercube cocktails it wasn’t positioned as a craft-cocktail place. The menu covered comfort-food territory from poutine and mac and cheese to spicy pasta, but the often-empty location, difficult parking, and lack of an active group of regulars may have contributed to its closure." - Joy Summers
