"This 100,000-square-foot conversion of a former big-box store at 776 S. Route 59 is being designed as a single-roof cultural complex that aims to recreate a mini Devon Avenue experience. Planned features include a 10-restaurant food court with diverse regional South Asian offerings (Indo-Chinese and Gujarati stalls, a biryani station, ice cream, snacks and juices), an all-vegan dosa vendor, and kid-friendly halal pizza/wrap options; the food program will serve halal meat and omit beef to respect Muslim and Hindu traditions. The project also allocates about 25,000 square feet for a South Asian grocery, a banquet hall for weddings and private events, 27,000 square feet for daycare/kids activities, and a range of entertainment and services such as batting cages and movie theaters.
