"When Penny Cluse, the beloved former occupant of the space that is now Frankie’s, closed after 25 years, the community was devastated. However, Frankie’s quickly proved itself a key new addition to the Burlington food scene, with chef and co-owner Jordan Ware and general manager and co-owner Cindi Kozak, both previously of Hen of the Wood, at the helm. The menu is short and strong, with seasonal dishes featuring ingredients from local farms and an excellent wine list. The ever-changing menu has offered renditions of classics like burrata with pistachio gremolata and grilled sweet potatoes, scallops with marinated fennel, and pork schnitzel with buttermilk vinaigrette and radicchio. Frankie’s also nabbed a spot on Eater’s list of the 14 Best New Restaurants in America in 2024." - Anna Darrow
