"Opened in 1987 and operating on Peel Street for 31 years before closing in December 2018, L’Orchidée de Chine was a once-beloved Szechuan restaurant that served figures such as Pierre Elliott Trudeau, Justin Trudeau, Nicole Kidman, and Roger Moore; former Gazette critic Lesley Chesterman called its General Tao Chicken the best in North America in 2017.
