"Redhook Brewery, a Seattle institution and a craft brew pioneer, is changing hands again four years after being bought out by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Founded in 1981 in Ballard, it released its most well-known beer, the Extra Special Bitter, in 1986. The company expanded after Anheuser-Busch bought a 25 percent stake in 1994, leading to the construction of new brewing facilities in Woodinville and New Hampshire. In 2008, Redhook merged with Widmer Brothers, forming the Craft Beer Alliance, which was fully acquired by Anheuser-Busch in 2019. The recent acquisition by cannabis giant Tilray marks another chapter in its history." - Harry Cheadle
