"In a 1916 Craftsman-style bungalow a few blocks off Third Street, McKay’s Cottage serves creative comfort food. The menu spans an array of breakfast classics, from Benedicts and hashes to scrambles and omelets. A decadent take on stuffed French toast features croissants, filled with mascarpone and paired with marionberry compote. The omelets are fluffy and light. The chunky breakfast potatoes look plain but are flawless as a crispy exterior leads to a creamy bite of potato. Some meals come with a fresh scone and homemade jam; if it’s not already coming with the meal, the scone is a must-order addition to the table. Folks can also find other delightful baked goods made on-site including muffins, sour cream coffee cake, and pecan sticky buns — each serving large, tasty, and made with just the right amount of sweetness. Gluten-free bagels and toast are also available." - Barb Gonzalez
