"I learned from its Twitter feed that the new Wava Halal Grill at 3611 Greenville Avenue officially opened yesterday. Everything served there is prepared to Halal standards, which govern the slaughter and preparation of meats for people who follow Islamic dining laws, but its Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare is still likely to draw crowds who don’t keep those rules. The menu offers a pretty standard lineup of gyros, falafel, kebabs, and bowls, all served with super-spicy red and creamy white sauces similar to those on offer at The Halal Guys; halal hot dogs, cheeseburgers, fries, and fresh fruit smoothies round out the options, with virtually every dish priced under $10. Current hours are Sunday–Thursday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday–Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m." - Amy McCarthy
