"This Wednesday, February 28, concluded the 16 year run of dive bar Upper Deck Tavern. Photographer Mike Ledford stopped by the storied haunt to catalog the last wild and crazy days. Lower King saloon Upper Deck has been home to PBRs, camaraderie, Sunday night karaoke, liquor shots, and bartenders willing to lend an ear. Owner Ken Newman lost the lease on the space at the end of February. Fans came out in droves to have one last bottle or can of PBR plus a few swigs of whiskey. As the days went on, the supplies got lower and the bar got more packed with people. Newman is hopeful that he can reopen another spot soon in Charleston. Until then, enjoy the photos from the last nights of Upper Deck, full of merriment, cheers, goodbyes, final visits to the infamous restrooms, and plenty of booze. Leave any fond Upper Deck memories in the comments." - Erin Perkins
