"Longtime Elf and Dune chef Scott Zwiezen was long inspired by the all-day cafes he experienced in Eastern Europe in the 1990s, especially the ones in Vienna, Prague, and Berlin, where easy-going but well-prepared classics come with wine and cocktails. The former Kaldi’s Coffee in Atwater VIllage was completely gutted out to reveal a checkered floor, marble bar, and domed ceiling that evokes Zwiezen’s memories of the ’90s cafes.
