"After a credit-card decline for a $4.25 shot of Bulleit bourbon, the bar’s owner, Doug Rommereim, posted a photo of the receipt—with "Declined!" scrawled across the top—on Facebook along with a scathing note, drawing local and media attention. Rommereim said that Richard Spencer, who reportedly lives nearby when not traveling to rallies, is widely disliked in town because of his racist rhetoric and ethnic-cleansing ideas, which he and most residents find repugnant; still, Rommereim added he would not ban Spencer from returning because he didn’t want to cause a scene.
