"A music-driven pop-up presenting a six-course tasting that translates the Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake feud into food, with chefs Jermond Booze and Amber Beckem splitting the menu so each can respond to specific songs and themes. Booze centers his half on the motif of smoke and high-contrast heat — a smoked shrimp and crab pasta salad dressed with Cajun hollandaise, herbed avocado, Nashville hot sauce, and a pickled onion ring delivers searing spice tempered by rich hollandaise; a play on elote swaps corn for pickled, smoked carrots for a bright yet smoky interlude; and a grilled chicken tsukune (Japanese-style meatball skewers) on pea purée with plum sauce, shishito mayo, pickled microgreens, and smoked pecans offers savory, smoky depth and textural contrast. Beckem counters with culturally referential, comfort-forward dishes that nod to Drake’s Toronto/Indian influences and Lamar’s L.A. narratives: a potato-and-pea samosa ravioli in coconut curry with charred corn, tomato chutney, and micro cilantro; an elegant chorizo breakfast tostada with collard green mole, quail egg, cotija, and chili-lime salt inspired by an early-morning spy vignette; and a dessert of saffron graham cracker crumble with sweet corn custard, blueberries, and vanilla cream.
