"Boldly promising a “one of a kind” Korean barbecue dining experience, I've noted that 888 Korean BBQ has set initial preview dates (Dec. 20–22, 5 p.m. to closing) ahead of a grand opening by the end of the month. The ground-floor, good-fortune–inspired restaurant replaces Mother's Korean Grill in the center of the Chinatown Plaza retail hub, across Spring Mountain Road from Magal BBQ. The menu is focused on eight protein choices, including beef, pork, and seafood, and the restaurant promotes itself as the first Korean restaurant in Las Vegas to serve kurobata natural pork belly, an option more frequently found on Japanese menus. Premium meat upgrades will include prime steak and wagyu, presented on custom-made lacquer-coated oakwood platters created by a carpenter in South Korea. Future daily operating hours are yet to be confirmed but are listed as 4 p.m. to midnight." - Bradley Martin
