"A plan to revitalize the historic Fisherman’s Wharf area would redevelop the area around Pier 45 into a hub featuring a seafood processing center, a wholesale fish market where visitors could watch fish being processed, and a food hall to taste local seafood. The 18-page proposal, put forward by local investors operating as Fisherman’s Wharf Revitalized LLC and now scheduled for review by the Fisherman’s Wharf Advisory Committee, also envisions an experiential museum about fish processing, an event center, a pedestrian promenade, short-term vacation rentals, and a beverage producer (winery, brewery, or distillery). The group has an exclusive negotiation agreement with the Port of San Francisco and about two years to finalize details; partner Louis Giraudo estimated the project could take as little as three and a half years, though cost and exact timeline remain unclear, and Port Commission approval would still require the Board of Supervisors to permit moving forward without a formal bidding process." - Lauren Saria
